American International University of Science and Theology is not accredited by any accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education.


Furthermore, it does not sponsor student visas and does not participate in federal or state financial aid programs.


American International University of Science and Theology is duly authorized by the State of Florida, Department of Education, Commission for Independent Education, to operate as a private, non-secular institution of higher learning. 

 


The University is empowered to confer Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in the following designated fields: ministry, counseling, theology, education, administration, music, fine arts, media communications, and social work.

 


In accordance with Section 1005.06(1)(f) of the Florida Statutes, the University has met the statutory requirements of state law and is not subject to governmental oversight pursuant to Section 1005.06(1)(f), Florida Statutes.

Transferability of credits earned at American International University of Science & Theology

is at the discretion of the receiving institution.


 

The 2024 Florida Statutes (including 2025 Special Session C):1005.04, Fair consumer practices.

 

(1) Every institution that is under the jurisdiction of the commission or is exempt from the jurisdiction or purview of the commission pursuant to s. 1005.06(1)(c) or (f) and that either directly or indirectly solicits for enrollment any student shall:

 

(a) Disclose to each prospective student a statement of the purpose of such institution, its educational programs and curricula, a description of its physical facilities, its status regarding licensure, its fee schedule and policies regarding retaining student fees if a student withdraws, and a statement regarding the transferability of credits to and from other institutions. The institution shall make the required disclosures in writing at least 1 week prior to enrollment or collection of any tuition from the prospective student. The required disclosures may be made in the institution’s current catalog;

 

(b) Use a reliable method to assess, before accepting a student into a program, the student’s ability to complete successfully the course of study for which he or she has applied;

 

(c) Inform each student accurately about financial assistance and obligations for repayment of loans; describe any employment placement services provided and the limitations thereof; and refrain from promising or implying guaranteed placement, market availability, or salary amounts;

 

(d) Provide to prospective and enrolled students accurate information regarding the relationship of its programs to state licensure requirements for practicing related occupations and professions in Florida;

 

(e) Ensure that all advertisements are accurate and not misleading;

 

(f) Publish and follow an equitable prorated refund policy for all students, and follow both the federal refund guidelines for students receiving federal financial assistance and the minimum refund guidelines set by commission rule;

 

(g) Follow the requirements of state and federal laws that require annual reporting with respect to crime statistics and physical plant safety and make those reports available to the public;

 

(h) Publish and follow procedures for handling student complaints, disciplinary actions, and appeals; and

 

(i) Prior to enrollment, provide a written disclosure to a student or prospective student of all fees and costs that will be incurred by a student, the institution’s refund policy, any exit examination requirements, and the grade point average required for completion of the student’s program or degree. The disclosure shall include a statement regarding the scope of accreditation, if applicable. Institutions licensed by the Commission for Independent Education shall disclose the information required pursuant to this paragraph in a format prescribed by the commission.

 

(2) In addition, institutions that are required to be licensed by the commission shall disclose to prospective students that additional information regarding the institution may be obtained by contacting the Commission for Independent Education, Department of Education, Tallahassee.

 

(3) In an application for licensure, the burden of demonstrating compliance with fair consumer practice is upon the person, entity, or institution asserting compliance. Determining compliance with this section shall rest with the commission. The commission may require further evidence and make such further investigation, in addition to any information submitted, as may be reasonably necessary in the commission’s judgment.

Student Records Policy
American International University of Science & Theology recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy and integrity of student academic records. Although the university is not a recipient of federal funds and is not legally bound by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), we voluntarily adhere to its principles as a matter of institutional ethics and best practice.

 

1. Access to Records
Students have the right to inspect and review their educational records maintained by the university within 45 days of submitting a written request.

2. Disclosure of Information
The university will not disclose personally identifiable information from a student's records without the written consent of the student, except as allowed under FERPA exemptions (e.g., school officials with legitimate educational interest, accrediting bodies, or in compliance with legal requirements).

 

3. Directory Information
Directory information (such as name, program of study, enrollment status, and graduation date) may be disclosed unless the student requests in writing that this information be withheld.

 

4. Record Retention
The university maintains student academic records for a minimum of 5 years after the student’s last date of attendance. Permanent records of degrees awarded are retained indefinitely.

 

5. Amendment of Records
Students may request the correction of records they believe to be inaccurate or misleading by submitting a written request to the Registrar.

If the request is denied, the student has the right to a hearing.

 

6. Complaints
Although AIUST is not under federal FERPA enforcement, any unresolved complaints may be directed to the university's administrative office.

Policy on Students with Foreign Degrees or from Non-English-Speaking Countries:

This policy outlines the admission and academic assessment procedures for applicants who hold academic degrees from foreign institutions or who originate from countries where English is not the primary language of instruction.

 

The purpose is to ensure that all students admitted to the American International University of Science & Theology (AIUST) possess the academic background and English proficiency necessary for success in our programs.

 


Applicants with Foreign Degrees

Applicants submitting academic credentials from institutions outside the United States must provide an official evaluation from a recognized credential evaluation service.

English Language Proficiency (Applicants from Non-English-Speaking Countries)


Applicants from countries where English is not the official language must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following:


- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): Minimum iBT score of 70.
- IELTS (International English Language Testing System): Minimum overall band of 6.0.
- Duolingo English Test: Minimum score of 100.
- Completion of a degree in an English-speaking institution (subject to verification).
- Completion of AIUST’s internal English Language Placement Assessment, where applicable.

 


Waiver of Language Requirements
An English proficiency requirement may be waived if:
- The applicant has earned a degree from a country where English is the primary language of instruction.
- The applicant has completed at least one year of study at an accredited/legally operating degree-granting U.S. institution.

 


Conditional Admission
Students who meet academic requirements but fall short of English proficiency may be admitted conditionally, subject to:
- Completion of AIUST’s English Language Preparation Program (ELPP), or
- Enrollment in approved ESL courses until proficiency is demonstrated.

 


Rights and Responsibilities
- All students must sign an acknowledgment of this policy.
- AIUST reserves the right to verify and investigate all foreign academic credentials.
- Misrepresentation or fraudulent documents will result in immediate disqualification or dismissal.

 


Record Keeping
All foreign credential evaluations, English test scores, and related documentation will be kept in the student's permanent academic record in compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
